There was jubilation at Aramoko Ekiti, the local government headquarter of Ekiti West LGA of Ekiti State on Thursday as the town experienced again for the first time in years, the flow of pipe borne water.
Residents who spoke with journalists, describing  water as life took turn to shower praises on the Ayo Fayose administration for mitigating their suffering in assessing portable water. "Water has not run from this tap in the past 5 years, fetching from here today still seem to me as though am dreaming, may God bless Fayose, may his enemies die of drought", Funmi Ogunsuyi, a resident said.
Ekiti State Governor,  Mr. Ayodele Fayose who drove into Aramoko to witness the development  after flagging off the 14.5km Awo-Ara-Ijero road rehabilitation/construction project at Awo Ekiti described the restoration as a fulfillment of promise made.
"This is a promise kept, immediately I got to Aramoko during the campaigns, this was what they mentioned, they said their pipes have not been running for years and I told them I will do everything within my powers to turn around the situation. So many pipes were already damaged because of some road work over time but we were able to fix new pipes and get water to Aramoko", the governor said.
Fayose who rode on a motorcycle(Okada) round Aramoko to have a first hand look at some of the water fetching points said the effort by his administration to make pipe borne water available in Ekiti homes remains an ongoing one assuring that the government will continue to do its best to improve on water supply from one community to the other.
