He has worked as political affairs officer with the United Nations in Afghanistan. Mosazai has got his Masters degree in Journalism at Carleton University in Oattawa in 2010, after completing his higher studies in the fields of political science and international relations in Bishkek.

His appointment as Afghan ambassador to Pakistan was made when relations between the two countries were facing many challenges.
