LAHORE – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Saturday reached the house of the late Salmaan Taseer, conveyed message of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari to Shehryar Taseer, son of the late governor.
According to a private TV channel, Bakhtawar Bhutto also accompanied Bilawal during the visit to Taseer's family. The visit of the PPP chairman to Taseer’s home in Lahore; the PPP circles see some important role in the party for Shehryar Taseer in future. Bilawal has a message of the PPP co-chairman for Taseer’s family to be active in strengthening the party and seek the support of influential families, especially in Punjab.
Strict security measures were adopted ahead of Bilawal visit to the family of former Punjab governor. All the adjacent roads to Taseer's house were blocked due to the arrival of the PPP chairman. Bilawal has said that Salmaan Taseer sacrificed his life for the protection of the weak and marginalized against exploitation and misuse of the laws of land.
In his message of tributes on the 5th martyrdom day anniversary of the former Punjab governor, he said from the torture cells of Lahore Fort to his late Salman Taseer emerged as a monumental character in the history that lived, struggled and embraced death like a true hero of the nation, democracy and human rights.
