In a statement, US State Department Deputy spokesperson Mark Toner stated that it would stand side-by-side with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism. He said that the terrorists were targeting educational institutions. Toner expressed his sorrow and offered his deepest condolences to the families of victims of the attack.

The US spokesman stated that such acts of terrorism were condemnable and especially shocking as Pakistan’s future generations were targeted in this act of brutality.
