KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Senator Sirajul Haq on Sunday announced to launch a massive drive for elimination of corruption and poverty from the society. Addressing a party convention in North Nazimabad area, he said that looted money of Rs 375 billion have been transacted abroad.

The JI supremo said that 2018 would be the year of change and masses would get rid of those US allies who robbed the country.

“The JI is a movement with the only purpose to bringing a peaceful Islamic revolution which would also ensure prosperity in the country. We want to see the system of God Almighty, which was practiced and showed by the Holy Prophet (PBUH),” he said.

The JI leader said that the present government has been failed to resolve the problems of people and instead the burden on common men is continuously increasing through pounding in foreign loans. Instead of eliminating corruption and mismanagement from the national institutions, the government is mulling to sale out the institutions, he alleged and added the JI would not accept privatisation of national institutions.
