ISLAMABAD – Minister for Information Pervez Rashid on Wednesday condemned the attack of terrorists on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda.
Talking to the National Assembly (NA) session, he expressed deep grief over the deaths of students and staffers and stated that all the political, security and military entities have to be united for combating the menace of terrorism.
Pervez said that the militants cannot frighten Pakistani nation. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, soldiers and special forces launched a ground and air operation at the university in a bid to shut down the assault. He said that a report having detailed information was being prepared which will be forwarded to the higher authorities for further investigation.
Earlier, Terrorists stormed into Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, early on Wednesday morning where two blasts were heard amid heavy firing. A group of militants stormed a university in Charsadda, killing at least 19 people and wounding dozens as the army killed four terrorists killed, officials said.
