ISLAMABAD: Capital city police have beefed up security for different educational institutions and other departments to avoid any untoward incident following the attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Capital’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP Operations) Sajid Kiani on Wednesday said that there are no threats received by any educational institution in capital. However, police have made fool-proof security arrangements in capital in wake of the heinous incident of Bacha Khan University Charsadda, he added.
He said that three police check posts have been established besides increase in patrolling on routes of various schools, colleges and universities in the federal capital.
He further said that the Station House Officers (SHOs) of every police station of the capital city have visited the schools and colleges in their respective jurisdictions to check the security arrangements.
The SSP informed that the training of guards at educational institutions is also being ensured adding that the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) are in contact with all the schools, colleges and universities regarding their security arrangements.
He said that the police have started search operations in surrounding areas of different educational institutions to have check on suspects.
