LAHORE - Lahore administration and police have chalked out a comprehensive security plan for educational institutions, hospitals and universities across city.
Chairing a meeting at Town Hall on Friday, Commissioner Lahore Division Abdullah Khan Sunbal, District Coordination Officer Lahore Captain (retired) Muhammad Usman, CCPO Lahore Amin Wains and DIG Operations Lahore Dr Haider Ashraf reviewed various steps regarding further strengthening the security in and around the sensitive buildings.
The meeting also was attended by representatives of public private schools, universities and medical superintendent of hospitals. The commissioner said that district administration and police were fully capable of coping with security challenges. “If security measures as per SOPs are not adopted, the non-cooperative institutions will be closed,” he said.
He also gave a deadline of ten days for the accomplishment of all security measures. Meanwhile, public and private schools and hospitals of the city have been instructed by the government to strictly follow security SOPs including installation of CCTV cameras, deployment of trained security guards and covering boundary walls with the barbed wires.
They have been advised that entrance and exit points of institutions must be one along with properly operational metal detectors.
