ISLAMABAD - Complete shutdown was observed in Islamabad town in occupied Kashmir against the recent killing of a youth, Mushtaq Ahmad Haroo, by Indian troops.
All shops and business establishments remained closed while traffic was off the road, KMS reported. Amid shutdown, people staged forceful anti-India demonstrations in the town. Indian police fired teargas shells to disperse the protesters in Khanabal, Naibasti, Achabal and Iqbal Market areas.
The action triggered clashes between the demonstrators and the police. A youth was injured after an Indian Army vehicle tried to run him over during the clashes. The youth, Mukhtar Ahmad, was shifted to District Hospital, Islamabad.
Eyewitnesses said that the troops went berserk and smashed windowpanes of several vehicles parked in Iqbal Market.
Indian police arrested several youth during nocturnal raids in Khanabal area, which had been witnessing demonstrations since the killing of the youth on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami of the occupied territory led by its spokesman, Advocate Zahid Ali, visited Islamabad and paid tributes to the martyred youth.On the other hand, the police also subjected.
