PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Thursday stressed need of another All Parties Conference (APC) after Bacha Khan University attack.
The chief minister visited Bacha Khan University along with opposition leader Lutfur Rehman. He was briefed about rescue activities and damages caused by the attack. While talking to the media, he said that there was a need to call an APC after the attack. It was not the time to score political points, he said.
He said that the federal government needs to talk straight forward with Afghan authorities. Afghanistan government needs to take steps to halt cross-border movement, he said.
The chief minister also said that it was the time that government should talk with India directly over involvement of RAW and not beat around the bush.
He paid rich tribute to Charsadda locals for countering the attack the best way they could. He lauded security agencies and Pakhtunkhwa Police for their commendable action. He said that Pakistan was in for another massive loss if the law enforcers had not acted the way they did.
Khattak once again urged the federal government to deploy Frontier Corps (FC) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He further urged the nation to stay united in stressful times.
On Wednesday, four terrorists had opened fire in Bacha Khan University that claimed 21 lives including a PhD scholar while around ten were injured. The injured include a female faculty member, under treatment in Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan visited the attack site where he inspected the search operation in surrounding areas which was ongoing then. The PTI chief had admired police and other law enforcement agencies for their in-time action. CM Khattak was on a foreign tour which he cut short after learning about the news and returned.
