ISLAMABAD – A powerful earthquake of 5.9 magnitudes jolted various cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab on Friday afternoon.
According to a private TV channel, the earthquake rocked Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Islamabad, Peshawer, Charsadha, Shangla, Malakand, Abbottabad, Manshera, Hangue, Dirbala, Azad Kashmir, Khyber agency, Malakand Agency.
According to MET office, the epicentre of the earthquake lied in the bordering areas of Tajikistan and Afghanistan. The depth of the epicentre was 232 kilometer and it continued for 15 seconds. People came out of the houses reciting Kalma Tayyaba and emergency was declared in the hospitals. No loss of life and property was reported till the filing of this report.
