ISLAMABAD - Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Crown Prince and Minister for Defence Mohammad bin Salman Al-Saud will visit Pakistan on Sunday.

Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif would receive the guest on his arrival at Nur Khan Air Base.

The development comes after Saudi Foreign Minister Dr Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir visited Pakistan on January, 7. According to a joint statement issued after the visit, the Saudi foreign minister called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and held delegation-level talks with Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz. He also met Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif at the General Headquarters.

The leadership of the two countries discussed a variety of matters of mutual interest and the regional situation including the ongoing tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran. The prime minister affirmed that the people of Pakistan would always stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Saudi Arabia against any threat to its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Saudi foreign minister briefed the prime minister on the recent situation in the Kingdom’s relations with Iran. He also briefed the on details of the Islamic coalition announced by Saudi Arabia to fight terrorism.
